The Official Software Channel Sales Guidebook
In 1992 I wrote this 300-page how-to guide that outlined all the strategies and tactics required in a successful software launch. The subtitle was "The Essential Guide for Anyone Selling, Marketing or Developing Software."
I updated the book every year as the market continued to grow, consolidate and otherwise change. The last edition I wrote was called "Edition 3.5" which was a tongue-in-cheek reference to Windows.
The StoreCheck Report
From January 1993 to June 1996 I published "The StoreCheck Report." This monthly newsletter highlighted the changes going on in the computer retail channel, and was based on site surveys across the US.
This was a time of incredible transition in the technology business, and the Report was provided so that executives could stay on top of these trends in order to plan effectively. The first issue highlighted the drop in PC system prices, and the last issue talked about how the Internet was going to change everything.
Miles Ahead
I also wrote a monthly column for Computer Retail Week under the title "Miles Ahead" that appeared on the back cover for the life of the publication. |
